Missing girl found safe in CT; adult arrested


She was taken into protective custody by Connecticut State Police. Smith, of Swanton, Vt., was convicted of sexual assault in 1999 and is not considered high risk, according to the Vermont sex offender registry. Smith was arrested and charged with violation of probation, fugitive from justice and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
