Rs 500 travel aid for blood patients


The CM said the state government was spending Rs12 crore annually to screen blood using the latest technology on a pilot basis at six blood banks spread across Bhubaneswar , Cuttack, Berhampur and Burla. The state has 14 blood separation units to prepare blood components such as platelets, plasma and RBC.Naveen also said the government is planning to buy nine blood collection vans for nine major blood banks, automation of blood grouping and cross matching. Supreme Court says ban on sale of firecrackers to remain


On Monday, the Supreme Court , in an effort to check pollution, slapped a temporary ban on the sale of firecrackers in the Delhi-National Capital Region till October 31. SC to hear Sahara-SEBI case today


The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the director general of police of Maharashtra to ensure that Sahara Group's flagship property Aamby Valley was handed over to the court-appointed official liquidator within 48 hours. Tamil Nadu government jacks up liquor prices to boost coffers


Opposition Leader M.K. Stalin said the increase in liquor prices was an example of how the government was contradicting itself on several issues.
