One injured in Marengo house explosion


William Trecker of Marengo said he awoke in his home near 7th Ave and East St. suddenly around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, just a few houses down from where the fire reportedly started with what sounded like an explosion. ComEd crews were working to restore service. According to the city, 136 homes were left without power as a result of the blast.
