Arkansas man arrested in home explosion, fire that killed toddler

Jail records show Carter is in custody in the Logan County jail and do not list an attorney for him. When officers arrived in the area, they noticed a home on fire at 1704 South Elm Street. 20 killed in bus accident in northern India

Based soldier dies in Iraq


The news release stated Chaves died at Al Asad, Al Anbar Province, Iraq, from a non-combat related incident. The incident is under investigation, the Pentagon said. In addition, at least 58 were wounded. Chaves was a 2015 graduate of Pitman High School. In a statement, California Gov. Jerry Brown said Chaves "bravely gave his life in service to our state and nation", adding that the people of California "extend condolences to his family and friends at this hard time".
