IAF tables RFP for 83 Tejas LCA


With no other firm competing for this contract, the Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Defence Ministry will nearly certainly translate into a tender for the supersonic fighter jet. Chinese ride hailing firm Didi Chuxing is now the second valuable venture-backed private company after it raised $4bn (£2.9bn) in its latest funding round on Tuesday. Last month, Uber was said to be worth $54 billion. Two Confederate statues removed from Memphis, TN parks


Nathan Bedford Forrest from Health Sciences Park and of President Jefferson Davis from Fourth Bluff Park. They sold the parks where the statues were displayed to a nonprofit organization for $1,000 each. Protesters have called for the removal of the Forrest statue, saying it represents racism and bigotry. Fire In South Korean Commercial Building Kills At Least 29


A Jecheon fire department official - who wished to remain anonymous - said most of the victims were trapped in public baths on the second and third floors. Some 50 fire engines, 60 firefighters and two choppers were sent to the scene to put out fire and rescue people. On November 5, at least 15 labourers were injured, seven of them seriously, when a fire broke out at a mill following an explosion in an oil tank on Hisar-Tohan road in Haryana. Shashi Kant Mishra said, "The condition of all the 9 workers who have been brought to the hospital is extremely serious". Facebook just added a simple 'on/off switch' for its facial recognition features


Thinly disguised as ease-of-use, the "on/off switch" mandates that to enjoy any of the benefits, you must accept all of the network's terms. Facebook said it also plans to use facial recognition technology to notify users if someone else uploads a photo of them as their profile picture, which the company said may help reduce impersonations, as well as in software that describes photos in words for people who have vision loss, so that they can tell who is in a photo.
