Google Focuses on ARCore, Announces Death of Tango


Google has today taken down the official Project Tango website, and through its twitter account announced that support is being discontinued on March 1, 2018. It was because of this, the lack software beyond some tech demos, plus only two compatible devices - the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro and the Asus ZenFone AR - that help facilitate Tango's demise. Charlottesville Police Chief Alfred Thomas resigns after criticism over white nationalist rally


The report , commissioned by the city and conducted by former U.S. Attorney Timothy Heaphy, found police didn't adequately plan for the event despite ample intelligence suggesting a major threat. Even though the province has an estimated 15,000 grizzlies, the British Columbia government has made a decision that will leave big game hunters shaking their heads in frustration. In 2016, wildlife biologists from the University of Alberta and the University of Minnesota gave the B.C. government a passing mark for management of its grizzly hunt, making 51 recommendations for improving habitat protection and population estimates. Google to shut down Project Tango AR platform


Project Tango looks like it will be breathing its last with two flagships continuing the legacy. So instead, Google is shifting priority to ARCore, the new augmented reality platform for Android that launched this summer . Google designed ARCore to run on regular (albeit higher-end) Android smartphones running Nougat or later.
