Uber board strikes agreement to clear path for SoftBank investment, reports say


With these changes in place, Benchmark (a key Uber investor) will drop a lawsuit against Kalanick. Softbank wants to invest $1 billion directly into Uber and to buy another $9 billion of shares from existing shareholders. Uber did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A spokesman for Kalanick declined to comment. Google Pixel 2 issue makes Assistant unavailable with Bluetooth headphones


Yet, the company is yet to issue a fix, despite pushing a firmware update to the Pixel 2 earlier this week. The screen response issue is along the curved edges of the screen. Apparently it's going to be "addressed in a future OTA [over-the-air] update", though we're not sure exactly when that will be. The cause appears to be the Pixel 2 XL's accidental touch protection feature being a little too strong, resulting in intentional taps being registered as accidental contact with the screen. Pair arrested after dead child was dumped in woods, police say


According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, an autopsy revealed that a Crestview toddler whose body was found in woods died from a skull fracture to the back of the head caused by blunt force trauma. Iraq hit by 7.3 magnitude quake close to Iran border


U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 7.2 quake has hit Iraq near the city of Sulaymaniyah. State television from the country added that it had been felt in a number of cities and villages had been damaged, with various villages out of electricity. Lire la suite »

Remembrance Day 2017: Where to pay tribute this Sunday


Millions of people across the United Kingdom fell silent today to remember the nation's war dead on Armistice Day . If you can provide a cake organisers would be grateful, with all proceeds going to the Poppy Appeal. Procession to the war memorial for wreath laying at 2.30pm. Justin Trudeau makes a stop at Jollibee


Trudeau first stopped by Likhaan, a non-governmental women's health advocacy group, in Manila. Jose Minana, a Jollibee executive, said it was Canadian officials who requested for the visit.
