AAA: Gas Prices In Michigan Up

AAA reports that the most expensive gas in the state can be found in the City of Chicago, at $2.69 per gallon. Gasoline demand is on par with this time a year ago, yet gasoline supply levels are 2 percent stronger. AAA says the lowest average price was about $2.43 per gallon in the Jackson area. This week they average $2.35 per gallon - and senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan says the Venezuela situation, hurricane season and declining US oil inventories are to blame for the increase. Florida couple transporting grill injured after SUV explodes when woman lights cigarette

The woman in the auto chose to light a cigarette, which ignited the propane in the vehicle, causing an explosion that inflated the Kia's roof and blew out the windows. The couple's injuries are not considered to be life-threatening. They have since been transported to a local hospital. Yorba Linda Couple Found Dead After Hiking in Mojave Desert

Saturday from Kathie Barber. The couple was discovered Saturday near Amboy Crater, an extinct cinder cone volcano. She said she had been hiking with her husband since 11 a.m. The hikers' auto was spotted by a helicopter drew at the Amboy trail head near Interstate 40.
