UNESCO declares Hebron Old City as Palestinian heritage site


In a secret ballot, 12 countries voted in favour of the move whilst three voted against it and six abstained. Chairperson of Yesh Atid, Yair Lapid, responded saying, "UNESCO's decision to recognize the Cave of Patriarchs as a Palestinian heritage site is a despicable falsification of history". The Supreme Court of Canada says Khadr is a Canadian with rights. The then-15-year-old Khadr ultimately confessed to killing US army medic Sgt. Christopher Speer during a firefight at a suspected al-Qaeda compound in 2002. A USA judge granted $134.2 million in damages in 2015, but the plaintiffs acknowledged then that there was little chance they would collect any of the money from Khadr because he lives in Canada. Bohol, Samar islands, Biliran, Southern Leyte, and parts of Leyte remain without power. Another line gang was sent to the Kananga Switchyard, owned by the Energy Development Corp.
