SeaWorld to lay off 350 workers, blames poor attendance

State to Get $4M+ in GM Switch Settlement


The U.S.'s largest auto maker said it had "reached a constructive resolution" with the state attorneys general that, in addition to the payment, "assures GM will continue ongoing improvements made to ensure the safety of its vehicles". The settlement also addresses additional GM recalls that involved unintended rotation of ignition switches. While Nissan has said the misconduct has no impact on the quality of its vehicles, it has raised questions about how closely rules are followed at its production plants, while also highlighting compliance issues at Japanese manufacturers. Jobless claims fall to almost 44-year low

The Labor Department noted claims taking procedures continue to be severely disrupted in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands as a result of power outages and infrastructure damage caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
