Nestle buys USA plant-based food firm Sweet Earth


Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The Swiss company, Europe's largest by market value, said on Thursday that the purchase of Sweet Earth marks its first foray into the U.S. Paul Grimwood, Nestlé USA Chairman and CEO, said in a statement that up to half of its customers are seeking more plant-based foods in their diet "and 40 percent are open to reducing their traditional meat consumption". Amazon Intends To Spend $5 Billion In Second HQ In The US


The company announced Thursday that it is searching for a city to host the new "HQ2" facility, which will cost at least $5 billion to construct and operate. John Deere has always been known for its iconic green tractors, combines, balers, and other farming equipment. John Deere has agreed to a tech-based acquisition focused on applying machine learning to its agriculture equipment. He also likened the acquisition to Deere's 1999 acquisition of NavCom Technology which "established Deere as a leader in the use of Global Positioning System technology for agriculture and accelerated machine connectivity and optimization". Annual price growth has slowed from a peak of 10% in March 2016. House price inflation as measured by Halifax´s House Price Index rose by 1.1% in August versus the 0.7% increase registered in July. Oxfordshire prices are 18p up on the £3.56 recorded in 2015. The most expensive places to drink include Sussex (£3.82), Hertfordshire (£3.81) and the Scottish Islands (£3.80). IBM is installing a Watson AI lab at MIT


IBM said on Thursday it will spend $240 million over the next decade to fund a new artificial intelligence research lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
