The former HJ Heinz Co executive, who had no scientific background before joining Novartis, reshaped the drugmaker by acquiring GlaxoSmithKline plc's mature cancer drug portfolio and offloading a vaccine business. Dr. Narasimhan is an elected member of the US National Academy of Medicine. HDFC Bank Added to RBI's 'Too Big to Fail' List


How does RBI define "too big to fail" banks? The banking regulator prescribes higher capital requirements - in terms of additional Common Equity Tier 1 (CET 1) capital - for such entities. Since then, SBI and ICICI Bank have been tagged as D-SIBs or "too-big-to-fail" for the third consecutive year. GST portal stops functioning, Govt extends deadline till September 10


According to news agency PTI, sales return or GSTR-1 for the month of July can now be filed till September 10 instead of September 5 and the purchase returns or GSTR-2 can now be filed by September 25 instead of September 10. The decision was taken by the GST implementation committee, which is authorized to decide on urgent matters that will subsequently be brought before the federal indirect tax body, the GST council chaired by finance minister Arun Jaitley. Scorpion delays easyJet flight overnight


A statement on EasyJet's website said passengers are being offered overnight accommodation in hotels. A passenger raised the alarm with cabin crew after noticing the scorpion on flight EZY6883 from Glasgow to Paris on Monday. "I$3 overheard someone at the desk ask what was happening, and they were told the plane was needing a clean". The deal values are not known. Calls and text messages to Nearbuy chief executive Ankur Warikoo and Little app chief executive officer (CEO) and co-founder Manish Chopra were not answered. The firm was subsequently re-branded Nearbuy. Before its acquisition by Paytm, both Nearbuy and Little had been struggling to expand.
