'Mario' film in the works based on Nintendo character

07 Février 2018

What might a new Super Mario movie look like? Nintendo of America tweeted. Nintendo and Universal Pictures will co-finance the film, and Universal Pictures will distribute it.

Thanks to this latest big screen venture for Mario being animated, Nintendo and Illumination should have no trouble recapturing the feel of the video games. Hence, Nintendo made a deal, developing the movie that revived the "Super Mario Bros".

Talking about how making a movie is different than making games, Miyamoto said, "Creating in an interactive medium is totally different from doing that in a passive medium".

Meledandri and he hit it right off: "We want to make something great", he said.

Annoncé dans le viseur du Real à plusieurs reprises dans le passé, la donne pourrait changer cet été. Arrivé en Allemagne en 2010, l'ancien joueur du Borussia Dortmund pourrait découvrir la Liga.

Nintendo will finally be putting Mario into the big screen after the disastrous early '90s film.

For those with long enough memories, the idea of a Mario film will bring back some very vivid images of Dennis Hopper with.um, interesting hair. Ryan Reynolds, who played the role of Wade Wilson in Deadpool, will play the lead in the movie. That is unless this new movie is somehow even worse.

The 1993 live action movie "Super Mario Bros." starring Bob Hoskins as Mario and John Leguizamo as his brother, Luigi, was a disaster at the box office.

Nintendo has already introduced Mario to the world of mobile gaming. Illumination's upcoming films include "Dr. Seuss' The Grinch" in November 2018, "The Secret Life of Pets 2" in June 2019, "Minions 2" in July 2020, and "Sing 2" in December 2020. In 2016, the company licensed its Pokémon characters to Niantic for the game Pokémon Go. Nintendo is trying to expand its business beyond video games. Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri is also attached to the movie.
