He expressed these views while talking to Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, the President of the Wolesi Jirga (House of People), National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, as well as his parliamentary delegation on the sidelines of the Speakers' Conference in Islamabad on Saturday.
While addressing the conference, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that all participating countries hold historical relations and nearly all countries have faced the menace of terrorism in one or another. Untapped resources of Afghanistan can make it richest mining region of the world and construction industry places Turkey among the top ranking countries in the field.
Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq said the participants of the conference reject terrorism in every form.
Addressing the opening session of the conference, Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani slammed the United States' recent comments about Pakistan and said Pakistan, "as an independent and sovereign state, is not used to being put on notice by any country". Addressing the three-day Speakers International Conference here at a local hotel he said, "The colossal damage to global economy can be gauged from the fact that since 9/11, Pakistan, alone, has suffered a loss of over 119 billion U.S. dollars to its economy because of such cowardly attacks".
"Pakistan believes in mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of its neighbours", he said while highlighting that the Pak-Afghan relations are entrenched in people-to-people contact, cultural affinities and shared interests.

Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan is the largest stakeholder in a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan and added that the future of both countries is linked. He said the six countries meeting today are important countries of the region. He said occupation of other countries, poverty and under-development are some of the causes of extremism and terrorism and these must be addressed to overcome the problem.
Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ismail Kahraman said the conference is going to yield positive results and therefore, it needs to be made permanent feature.
The bilateral meetings will be held tomorrow.
