Salvation Army campaign helps feed hungry in Brandon

18 Décembre 2017

On Monday, December 18, the workers at the Blue Springs plant presented the Salvation Army with $15,000 to make up for the shortage of red kettle donations.

Toys, clothing and money were donated by Toyota workers to help the Salvation Army.

To date, the campaign has raised $570,622, or 52 percent of the $1.1 million goal through various fundraising initiatives, including the Red Kettles.

"This $200,000 donation gives us a much needed boost", added Richardson.

"This is a blessing to have this in the community, a real blessing", Lawrence Wood said about the food program.

Since the woman was reunited with her ring, FOX23 is told she hasn't taken it off once.

As others have highlighted, ideas for some of the new features were seemingly lifted from third-party Reddit clients. Another group of features launching today are designed for Reddit's moderators.

The couple behind that donation also gave the gift with the understanding of remaining anonymous.

Captain Ken Chapman of the Salvation Army of Metro Tulsa said he received a frantic phone call from the couple asking if the ring was still with them. The Salvation Army credits a person it has dubbed "St".

"At first I thought it was a keychain; since we get a lot of people who accidentally put their keys in the kettle along with their lose change", said Marcos Marquez, the man who discovered the gold bar.

The Twin Cities Salvation Army was founded in 1886, and Borgen said she believed that red kettles have been used in Minnesota for more than a century.
