Injuries hit West Indies ahead of limited-overs series against Black Caps

16 Décembre 2017

I don't think now, at 34, it would make any sense coming back. As long as I can play cricket, I am happy. I just need to see what is left for me, for my fans to see Dwayne Bravo playing cricket.

Left-arm quick Cottrell, 28, could feature in his first match for the Windies since January 2015, when he played his only two ODIs.

The West Indies attack struggled for penetration in a concerning performance against a team made up primarily of Kiwi fringe domestic players not required for Twenty20 duty.

Although his worldwide career looks might as well over, the 34-year-old doesn't see himself making a comeback for Windies, he was quoted as saying at the T10 League he's now participating in. "That is my priority", he added.

Bravo is now enjoying a spell in the inaugural T10 league, and believes a return to the worldwide fold is highly unlikely.

Bravo, who played for Chennai Superkings till IPL 2015, and played for Gujarat Lions in 2016, suffered an injury in December, which ended his IPL campaign in 2017. The dynamic right-hander hasn't played in Tests for over seven years now while his last One-Day International was in Windies's abandoned tour of India in 2014.

A spirited all-rounder who can set the field on fire with his infectious enthusiasm, Bravo has been a trusted commodity in the T20 market, contributing in all three departments easily.

Swept 2-0 in the Test series, a new-look West Indies appeared to have done enough to win their first match on tour when they reached 288.

An injury during the Big Bash League (BBL) in December 2016 saw him being ruled him out of the IPL this year. Bravo has not played for West Indies since the T20 series against Pakistan in the preceding September, and believes his chances of a recall into the team are slim. Playing BPL, we made it to the semi-finals.
