"We will have to compensate for that".

During the 2014 Indian election campaign, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Narendra Modi, successfully lampooned the Congress Party for its "anti-democratic dynastic culture", deriding Rahul Gandhi as an "egoist prince". "Women can't even join the RSS, that is their ideology", he charged.

Referring to the change of guard in the Congress, he said: "Unfortunately, we don't have a women president anymore. We will work on having women Chief Ministers in states", he added. "We will work on that together", he said.

Addressing a day-long workshop organised by the Congress' women's wing here, Rahul told the Centre that his party would not leave it with any choice in the matter.

"It is my first function as president and I accepted this before Karnataka and Kerala because I wanted to give a clear message to the women of India and the Congress party".

He said he has done so since he accorded importance to women, who will have to play an important role in spreading the Congress ideology across the country.

"There is a central difference between the BJP, the people we fight, and us". "Aap kabhi Gandhi ji ki koi bhi photo dekhiye, uss mein aapko Gandhi ji ke paas 3-4 mahilaayein zaroor dikhayi dengi (See any photo of Gandhi ji, in it three to four women can be seen for sure)", he said.

He then trained his guns on RSS - accusing it of being biased against women. We need to spread the Congress ideology. We'll push the government to implement women's reservation. "Actually only you (women) can do it", he said. I have no feeling of hate for Modiji, ' Rahul said in an interview to a Gujarati news channel GSTV. "The Gujarat Congress has given a message in the last three-four months".

Congress president-elect Rahul Gandhi today made a strong pitch for the empowerment of women by passing a bill in Parliament providing a 33-per cent reservation to them. "We will fulfil the role of the opposition party in doing so", he said.

"We have to prepare women systematically and actively at all levels, and get them to contest elections".
