DJ Sends Taylor Swift $1 Sacagawea Coin as 'Final Jab'

"I thought it would get people to think about Native American women because I had read and researched that there was a huge problem with Native American women disappearing and dying mysteriously in unsolved murders in North America", Mueller told ABC News.

David Mueller, the former radio DJ who first sued Swift for $3 million for defamation only to be defeated in a countersuit, told the Associated Press he sent her the payment on November 28, and reportedly provided the publication a letter as proof it went in the mail.

The Associated Press reported that Mueller had vowed to send the coin as a final jab at the singer, who called the case a win for "anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault".

Swift said Mueller put his hand under her dress and grabbed her bare bottom.

In her recent interview with TIME magazine, Taylor Swift revealed that she was still waiting for the symbolic $1 settlement that she won after her sexual assault trial against radio DJ David Mueller.

In August, a federal jury in Denver determined Mueller had groped Swift at a backstage meet-and-greet in 2013. "I mean, I think they made this into a publicity stunt, and this is my life". Does he.not think.women's rights.are a thing? Mueller losing his job isn't Swift's fault - seeing as he has now been found guilty, it's his own. Sending the coin is incredibly petty, and it speaks to the idea that women may not come forward to report abuse or harassment for fear of not being taken seriously.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, you can seek help by calling the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800-656-HOPE (4673). In the story, Swift said she had not yet received the dollar; she said "that act of defiance is symbolic in itself". Instead of being blamed for Mueller's downfall, she deserves to be recognized for calling attention to a serious issue that affects far too many women.
