Ranbir Kapoor heads to Cape Town after Shashi Kapoor's funeral

Several industry veterans, including leading ladies of Shashi Kapoors films such as Waheeda Rehman, Rekha and Hema Malini attended the prayer meet of the actor, here today.

In a condolence letter to his daughter Sanjana Kapoor, Gandhi wrote: "I am deeply saddened by the news of your beloved father's passing".

Indian veteran actor Shashi Kapoor has left the world at an age of 79 with some incomplete wishes, among which, the biggest one was to work with legendry Dilip Kumar.

One person was confirmed dead at the scene and the officer who was shot was taken to a hospital, according to Miami-Dade police. An officer was wounded and another person was killed in a shooting outside a Walmart, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.

Shashi Kapoor died after prolonged illness on Monday at Mumbai's Kokilaben Ambani Hospital.

Members of Kapoor family, including Krishna Raj, Neetu, Randhir, Babita, Karisma, Rajeev, Armaan and Adar sat together. He was undergoing dialysis for a kidney ailment for many years.

Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Salim Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Ranbir Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Supriya Pathak, Shakti Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Suresh Oberoi among others were present at the cremation. He was wrapped in the tricolour and given a three-gun salute by the police for his last rites at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium.

He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2011 and received cinemas prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award in 2015.
