Central Michigan heads to Idaho Potato Bowl; Western Michigan ignored

04 Décembre 2017

Neither the Cowboys (7-5, 5-3 Mountain West) nor the Chippewas (8-4, 6-2 Mid-American) have played in the Potato Bowl at Albertsons Stadium on the campus of Boise State.

Wyoming and Central Michigan have been selected to play in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, the bowl announced on Sunday. Central Michigan enter the game 8-4 on the season and are now riding a 5-game winning streak.

"There is always extra enthusiasm around the bowl when we have two first-time participants and this year will be no different", said the bowl's executive director, Kevin McDonald. "Now we have two exciting teams with big-play capabilities who will put an exclamation mark on the festivities with a really competitive game". We now know where the cowboys are headed for their bowl game.

Tickets for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl are available through the University of Wyoming Ticket Office at GoWyo.com/Tickets or by calling 307-766-7220.

Junior Josh Allen injured his right (throwing) shoulder in a win against Air Force, and Wyoming has lost two straight without Allen, who started the season as a possible first-round National Football League draft pick.

"We're excited about being in a bowl game for the second year in a row", Wyoming coach Craig Bohl said in a news release. We can't wait to see Cowboy fans in Boise on December 22.

The Chippewas are in a bowl game for the fourth consecutive season. "I think it is another indication of us building a program for long-term success here at the University of Wyoming".
