Florida targeting Dan Mullen to fill head coaching vacancy

26 Novembre 2017

The hysteria of the Florida Gators coaching search may come to an end with a familiar name on his way back to Gainesville, Florida.

Low said there are three candidates that he believes the Gators are looking into at the moment - USF's Charlie Strong, Oregon's Willie Taggart and Mississippi State's Dan Mullen.

The Florida Gators are reportedly targeting former offensive coordinator and current Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen to fill their head coaching vacancy, according to Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel. Football Scoop is additionally reporting that Frost is now leaning toward returning to his alma mater at Nebraska.

Mullen brings a lot to the table for the Gators, including being a now-proven program builder and quarterback-developer, two things Florida has sorely missed since Meyer's departure.

Mullen is finishing his ninth season as head coach at Mississippi State. From their time at Mississippi State, Stricklin knew what he would be getting should he choose to offer the position to Mullen.

Mullen is 69-46 in nine seasons in Starkville, leading the Bulldogs to an unprecedented No. 1 ranking in 2014 and an 8-4 mark this season.
