Darrelle Revis won't play on Sunday vs. Buffalo Bills

26 Novembre 2017

He will play for the veteran minimum (plus incentives) this season and he will earn $10 million in 2018, although he has no fully guaranteed money next year.

New Chiefs cornerback Darrelle Revis will be playing for a prorated portion of the veteran minimum salary in 2017, per his new contract, according to league sources, with no guaranteed money in the new deal. Revis was clearly not his former self last season with the Jets, as he played through a wrist injury and is said to have been out of shape.

Bob Sutton is the Chiefs' defensive coordinator and he was part of the New York Jets' coaching staff during Revis' tenure with the team from 2007 to 2012. ESPN reports Revis will not be active for today's game against the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium.

UFO Today - a YouTube channel "dedicated to the UFO phenomena" - pointed the object out in its own version of the clip. The image which has now gone viral features a large triangle with bright lights evenly placed around it.

"Actually, teaming back up with him and loving what he does as a defensive coordinator was a no-brainer", Revis told reporters on Wednesday afternoon, via the Chiefs' official website.

The Chiefs will go with Marcus Peters and Steven Nelson as their starting corners, with Terrance Mitchell, Phillip Gaines and Kenneth Acker also in the mix.

"The reason for me returning is the fire I have, the fuel I have to continue to play this game at a high level, " Revis said upon signing with the Chiefs. "Whatever is best for the team, whether my position is playing a few downs or playing in the slot, wherever Coach wants to play me and feels he can utilize me to help win". Kansas City is the only team in the division with a winning record, but they have trended downward recently while the Chargers have blown out the Bills and Cowboys in the past two weeks to reach 4-6.
