Christopher Pyne blames gay porn tweet on hack

As Defence Industry Minister, Mr Pyne usually uses his Twitter account to discuss military hardware or sometimes to promote his media appearances.

"I was hacked overnight!" Mr Pyne tweeted this morning, noting he had been asleep at 2:00am when the "like" occurred.

Christopher Pyne says his account was hacked and he definitely didn't like a gay porn video on Twitter. Bernardi said he was concerned about the national security implications of a Government minister's social media account being hacked, and wants a full investigation.

The tweet has not been unliked, and Mr Pyne has not tweeted in the time since it first appeared.

Mr Pyne has since tweeted that he was hacked and questioned whether it was somone "making mischief over the plebiscite?" "Be accountable for your actions".

The Australian Border Force was asked to explain why its commissioner's official Twitter account appeared to like a pornographic tweet earlier this year.

"It was a staffing issue and it was inadvertent".
