Top Pak Army man says India sabotaging CPEC

Chairman Senate Committee on Defence and Parliamentary Committee on CPEC Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed says Pakistan would become hub of regional connectivity due to new energy infrastructure and trade routes.

General Zubair was addressing a two-day worldwide conference on regional dynamics and strategic concerns in South Asia at Serena Hotel in Islamabad.

Pakistan's top Army General today alleged that India has established a special intelligence cell at a cost of United States dollars 500 million to sabotage the strategic China- Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), according to a media report. "RAW has established a special cell at a cost of $500 million to sabotage the CPEC", the CJCSC said. India is also fanning terrorism in Balochistan, he added.

Wrapping up a two-week visit, the International Monetary Fund said it expects Asia's fourth-largest economy to expand 3.2 percent this year, up from its earlier prediction of 3.0 percent.

"Add to this India's growing [military] force and 80 per cent Pakistan-centric force potential - India is playing with fire", Gen Zubair concluded. He said India has violated the ceasefire for more than 1,200 times, thereby, continuing its years-old war against Pakistan.

Speaking about India's growing aggression toward's Pakistan, he said: "I believe India continues to engage Pakistan through an asymmetric strategy and ploys". "Kashmir issue is the harbinger of a nuclear war in the region".

During his address, the CJCSC stressed the need to resolve the longstanding Kashmir dispute which, he said, was vital for durable peace in the region.
