Nintendo reportedly upping Nintendo Switch production next year

10 Novembre 2017

Many indie games have been finding comfortable homes on the Switch, so Teslagrad could have a warm reception on Nintendo's portable/home console hybrid.

The Wall Street Journal has learned that Nintendo plans on increasing production of the Nintendo Switch in its next fiscal year.

If by April 2019 Nintendo distributes 30 million, plus the 17 million units it plans to sell by the end of the current fiscal year, it means the company will have about 50 million Switch consoles on the market.

Finally, Dimensional Fund Advisors LP boosted its holdings in shares of Primo Water Corporation by 15.3% during the first quarter. Following the completion of the sale, the insider now owns 1,980,927 shares of the company's stock, valued at $24,088,072.32.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has explained to CNN that the failure of the Wii U was responsible for the Nintendo Switch's swift success in the marketplace.

Nintendo's best-selling system of all-time, the Nintendo DS, had shipped 35.61 million units by the end of December 2006, two years out. Sony's console, which launched alongside the Xbox One in November 2013, has already eclipsed 60 million units sold and continued to sell at a pace much greater than Xbox One but somewhat off Switch's throughout 2017.

"We have increased our Nintendo Switch shipment projections for this fiscal year from 10 million units to 14 million units", Nintendo's Tatsumi Kimishima stated during the question and answer period of the call.
