Several Injured Two Groups of Nigerians Clash in Saket

30 Octobre 2017

Armed with swords and cleavers, around a dozen Nigerian nationals fought in a hospital in south Delhi as terrified staff hid in toilets and upper floors. "The receptionist was also beaten", said Dr Ashok Kumar, in-charge of the nursing home.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, when a group of Nigerian nationals arrived at a nursing home in Saket, New Delhi. The other members reportedly waited outside the hospital.

Police officers say that they recovered three CCTV footages from the hospital in which the attackers were seen smashing the doors and glasses. On seeing him, the men who were waiting outside ran towards him, ostensibly to attack him.

Meanwhile, another person arrived in a separate auto rickshaw. The group then entered the premises and assaulted him, besides causing damage to furniture and the lab.

It was found that the two group had gone to a restuarant near Mehrauli church and got into a fight with each other during which one of them had smashed a beer bottle on the woman's head. Spokesperson of the nursing home, Ashok Kumar, said a few doctors and staff members of the nursing home were present at the time of the attack. They also vandalised the hospital, leaving the staff in horror. Police said some persons have been detained and a search is on to nab the others.
