Google launches Android 8.1 developer preview

26 Octobre 2017

Google has launched the developer beta of Android 8.1 "Oreo", which features its new Neural Networks API.

The biggest development that this new version of Android is expected to bring about is where the apps can only make a sound alert once per second and a notification dot showing a preview of what the notification is about.

While the Beta Program issues these updates over the air, the developer preview is only compatible with the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Pixel C, Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, and Pixel 2 XL, reports The Verge.

L'affaire relative à cette femme soupçonnée d'être une tueuse en série avait également fait grand bruit en France. Muriel Robin sera Jacqueline Sauvage dans un téléfilm pour TF1 sous la direction d'Yves Rénier .

"Notification Dot is a new way for developers to indicate that there's an activity in the app", said Dave Burke, vice president of Android Engineering. At the moment, only Google's own camera app can take pictures with HDR+ technology, so if you use the camera directly through WhatsApp for example, images probably won't look as good as if they're taken with the dedicated camera app.

This version of Android is expected to arrive first for Google's Pixel and Nexus devices followed by other Android carriers.

It may be mentioned that most original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG and Huawei are yet to release the Android 8.0 Oreo update to its flagships and popular devices.
