Jason Momoa breaks silence on that Game of Thrones rape joke

13 Octobre 2017

In the tradition of unflattering clips of male actors saying or doing sketchy things getting resurrected, this footage from the 2011 "Game of Thrones" Comic-Con panel is making the rounds because of the ill-advised joke Jason "Aquaman" Mamoa makes.

In July, "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner, whose character Sana was raped by husband Ramsey Bolton on their wedding night in season 5, said she'd never really thought about the situation before.

The clip of the Justice League actor resurfaced after a number of recent discussions of sexual harassment by men in Hollywood.

As of late Thursday morning, Momoa had yet to comment on the uproar.

The deceased, identified as Samiksha Vitkar (13) and Divya Pawar (12), were on their way to school when they were mowed down. The arrested trio are identified as Akash Jagtap, Hrishikesh Chavadhar, and Prithviraj Chavan, all residents of Baramati.

After someone asked Momoa what he liked about being on the show, he said he loves being able to "get away" with so much stuff, like ripping someone's tongue out of their throat, and getting to "rape lovely women".

Emilia Clarke (plays Daenerys Targaryen), Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) were seen holding their heads in their hands.

Another thing that happened at San Diego Comic-Con: Jason Momoa made some comments about rape. I love her, but I'm hurting her and she's crying. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time, ' Chapman said in a statement.

It comes as Momoa's co star in the upcoming Justice League film, Ben Affleck, admitted he "acted inappropriately" and apologised to One Tree Hill's Hilarie Burton.
