Accountability court resumes hearing of illegal assets case against Dar

Nearly 200 policemen have been stationed in and around the judicial complex to provide security for today's hearing, while all routes except one entry point have been sealed off to prevent the unauthorised entry of any uninvited persons.

Federal Minister Daniyal Aziz and State Minister Anusha Rehman also arrived at the NAB court while PML-N workers are not allowed to enter the court premises.

National Accountability Court (NAB) presented two more witnesses in Ishaq Dar corruption case references at accountability court today.

In its verdict, the apex court had ordered filing of references against Nawaz Sharif, his family and relative and minister Ishaq Dar, proceedings of which were to be overseen by a judge. I was asked to provide verified bank details of Ishaq Dar to NAB.

During the hearing, Dar said that he had opened an account with Bank Alfalah in 2005 but had closed it in 2006.

On September 27, the finance minister had been indicted for possessing assets beyond his known sources of income.

After skipping his first hearing, for which a summons had been issued, Dar appeared in court later after bailable warrants for his arrest had been issued to ensure his presence.
