Conversely, the $399 Home Max is a top of the line speaker set to compete with the likes of Sonos when it comes to both audio fidelity and voice assistant functionality.

Though there's nothing wrong with the voice-controlled Google Home smart speaker, the Google Assistant-controlled smart home gadget hasn't caught on like Amazon's Alexa-enable speakers.
