The initial impressions of 'Blade Runner 2049' are off the charts

While the review embargo for Blade Runner 2049 has yet to lift, critics who were able to see the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 cult hit yesterday have been allowed to post their first impressions on social media, and it seems they've been roundly impressed.

Titled "Blade Runner Black Out 2022", Watanabe worked with "Blade Runner 2049" director Denis Villeneuve on the project, as well as drafting in Flying Lotus to provide the soundtrack. The film takes place in 2022 and focuses on an EMP detonation that has caused a global blackout with risky consequences. But if you can't wait for 2049's October 6 release, do not fret. Blade Runner 2049 stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana De Armas, MacKenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks, Lennie James, Carla Juri, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto.
