Part 1, The First Five Years, is a detailed look at the first five years of his career told by Brooks himself and those involved with the creating, recording, and promotion of the first five albums.

Brooks announced on Wednesday that "The Anthology Part 1: The First Five Years" goes on sale November 14. The 5 CD set features 52 songs, 19 of which are new, unreleased or demo versions. Part one of what is going to be a massive five part anthology comes November 14th. The singer has also announced plans for shows at the 2018 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the 2018 Stagecoach Music Festival. "And it runs through first five albums, so the first five years", he said during the presser.

The project marks the first book Brooks has ever written.

The first part of the anthology will detail the beginnings of cutting "The Thunder Rolls" and how it was nearly released by another artist.
