Valentino Rossi: Dani Pedrosa slams rival after MotoGP in Aragon

24 Septembre 2017

In FP4 I did not have a good feeling on my Ducati and in those conditions you can not be fast.

Rossi missed the San Marino Grand Prix because of the leg break, but remains fourth in the world championship standings, 42 points behind world champion Marc Marquez of Spain and Italy's Andrea Dovizioso with five rounds to go. However, Marquez showed pace right from the start and managed to pass Dovizioso by Lap 6.

"The conditions were a little bit more hard compared to this morning, to make a good lap, but anyway the team did a great job so I'm really happy", Maverick Vinales says.

Vinales finished quickest in the final free practice session and carried that form through to qualifying, sealing pole position ahead of fellow Spaniard Lorenzo of Ducati with team mate Rossi also on the front row for Sunday's race. "If it wasn't at this track, in front of these fans, maybe I would have thrown in the towel". The dry bike has good potential and rides well all the time, but we have to improve in the rain, so we're keeping that in mind, in order to be consistent.

Members of Karni Sena showed their protest by burning recently released Padmavati poster that features Deepika. Padmavati won't be an easy film and the actor told IANS: "There are lots of expectations with " Padmavati ".

Rossi, though, slips 56 points behind Marquez as his hopes of 10th world title begin to fade. Honestly, it's incredible what Valentino did today, I have no words.

Looking for his first win since swapping Yamaha for Ducati at the start of the season Lorenzo led for most of the race after beating pole-sitter Vinales to the first corner.

"I imagined that it would be a tough day and it was - he comments -Usually four sessions are not enough to finish all the work we need to do and this time we had to condense everything into barely two". Marquez' first run time was enough for fifth place.

The next race is the Japan Grand Prix in Motegi on October 15.
