Israeli Missile Intercepts 'Hezbollah-Controlled' Drone

20 Septembre 2017

The drone took off from a Damascus military airport before crossing into the Israeli-controlled part of the Golan Heights, Israeli military spokesman Jonathan Conricus told the AFP news agency.

The system was also used in July 2016 when two Patriot missiles were fired at a suspicious drone that crossed into Israeli airspace from Syria.

IDF Spokesman Ronen Manelis stated that the IDF identified the Iranian-made drone, operated by the Hezbollah terror group, taking off from the global airport in Damascus.

The IDF will act severely and attack against any such actions, said Manelis, adding: "We will respond to every such attempt". The IDF recently completed a large-scale drill in the country's north, with tens of thousands of soldiers drilling for a hypothetical war with Iranian-backed Hezbollah. Both missed their target and the unmanned aircraft returned to Syria.

Season three of the hit CW superhero show The Flash ended with Barry Allen heroically surrendering himself to the Speed Force in order to keep time from pretty much collapsing in on itself (though to be fair, he's the main reason it was happening).

Israel used a Patriot missile to take down a Hezbollah drone that attempted to infiltrate its airspace in the Golan Heights Monday, according to news reports.

In a recent interview with The Jerusalem Post, Commander of the Aerial Defense Division Brig. The military claimed it was Iranian and operated by the Lebanese militants Hezbollah who are fighting with the Syrian regime.

The Patriot interceptor missile was launched from a military installation in northern Israel, near the city of Safed.

In addition, Russian and Iranian forces are fighting in Syria in support of President Bashar Assad.
