After a long wait and a seven-week hype, Game of Thrones Season 7 certainly ended with a bang, as the most anticipated moment in the show's history proved that blue is indeed the warmest color. "When enough people make false promises, words stop meaning anything".

Then there was Cersei, who all season has done little more than stare at a map of Westeros while wearing black and plot how to kill people while pregnant with an incestuous love child. Although Sansa was well aware of Littlefinger's questionable behavior before then, it wasn't until Bran's revelation about his role in the arrest and execution of their dad that she confronted him. Unless, you know, the writers just completely scrap that subplot altogether in which case, a fond farewell to our queer Queen and her eunuch underling. A group of men used the shared dragonglass to fight back against the Others alongside the Last Hero, becoming an early incarnation of the Night's Watch.

In the first major battle scene of season seven, the two warring sides of House Greyjoy finally slugged it out on the open seas. This year, it was released in March for a broadcast in July, so we can expect the same date for Season 8, even if we have a hard time believing it. But the arrival of a long winter, one that spanned generations of Children and men alike, heralded a threat that almost wiped both races out altogether. For HBO, they'll have to get by for the next year or so without what is undoubtedly the biggest show on TV, but somehow I imagine they'll be just fine.
