MTV invites 'hero' transgender troops to awards after Donald Trump ban

Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Paul Haverstick spoke to CNN about the invite, saying, "At this time the Department of Defense is reviewing the parameters of the request".

As per the reports, the network has invited transgender member of the USA military to sunday's video music award, It seems like MTV does not care about President Donald Trump's decision to ban transgender people from serving in the military.

According to Variety, the network has put in a formal request to the Department of Defense for transgender troops to attend the awards this Sunday, which will be hosted by Katy Perry.

MTV confirmed Thursday that they have invited transgender military members to this year's Video Music Awards in response to President Donald Trump's new guidelines on the matter.

After his announcement, Pentagon officials said the Department of Defense would not enact any changes until they had more information from the White House.

Today, President Trump announced the USA military would indeed be following through with its proposed plan to reject trans applicants because of "tremendous medical costs". The producers already announced that there will be no gendered categories this year and there will be a "Best Fight Against the System" category (no, Rage Against the Machine is not nominated).
