Huawei Mate 10 teaser video reveals Dual rear camera setup

22 Août 2017

However, just before the launch, there is a trend that most of the smartphone brands follow. But as is the case with most flagship launches these days, the teasers and leaks of the flagship phones start coming out weeks before the launch.

The Huawei Mate 10 has been making all the right noises and may release soon, as the prices of the immediate predecessor, the Huawei Mate 9, has now been slashed. By the way, buying Huawei Mate 9 is very beneficial, as a smartphone Mate 10 will cost twice as expensive - about $ 1,100 U.S., because this is a fundamentally new (for Huawei) device. Why are we sure this is the Mate 10? But one slide does say "Huawei Mate", so it is safe to say that it is indeed hinting at the Mate 10.

According to GSMArena, the dual camera setup comprises a 12 MP colour sensor and a 20 MP monochrome sensor. Huawei CEO Richard Yu told Bloomberg that the Mate 10 would have this kind of screen, possibly in reference to the Galaxy S8 and (rumoured) iPhone 8's super-thin display bezels. One can expect some changes to the software algorithms in the Mate 10. The Leica branding is quite prominent. You can also see different scenarios captured by the smartphone with different modes.

In addition, Samsung is likely to talk about the wearable devices and possibly introduce a new one or two. A few months have passed since then, without the digital assistant showing up.

However, the upcoming mobile device will be powered by the 10-nm HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset. Earlier reports have suggested that the Huawei Mate 10 will most probably come with an "EntireView" 6-inch display and have an 18:9 aspect ratio with 2160x1080 pixel resolution. The handset will arrive with a Mali G71MP12 GPU.

Although no mention of the Mate 10 was made in the video, there is no doubt the teaser is for the flagship. Will it be a worthy competitor?
