Zlatan Ibrahimovic to sign new Manchester United contract

21 Août 2017

ESPN have reported that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be staying at Manchester United and that his new contract will be signed later this week.

The Manchester giants made a decision to release the striker after he picked up a severe knee ligament injury in April but he appears to have recovered quicker than expected and he could potentially feature for the Red Devils later this season.

The Daily Mail claims that the current Premier League leaders are confident that the 35-year-old will put to paper on a new deal at Old Trafford before the end of the month.

Ibrahimovic was United's leading scorer last term, netting 28 goals in all competitions. His contract with the club expired in June.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has suggested his knee is nearly strong enough to return to football by posting a video of himself kicking a punching bag.

New York Giants' Michael Bowie Charged With Domestic Assault, Multiple Reports Say
Beyond the criminal charges, he will be subject to potential discipline by the NFL under the league's personal-conduct policy. Bowie is a third-string offensive tackle and is a longshot to make the Giants' 53-man roster this preseason.

Jose Mourinho wanted the Swedish legend to remain at the club.

The former PSG, Inter Milan and Barcelona striker is still undergoing his recovery work at United's AON Training Centre and it's believed that his rehab is going quicker than expected.

"For people like Marcus, Martial and Mkhitaryan to have that target man to play with them, I think it is very good". "He wants more at football's highest level, so we are having conversations and we are discussing the possibility of him staying with us for the second part of the season". "He's not ready to play tomorrow, he's not something urgent, he's not something you are desperate to have it done, or not done". He posted a video on social media Sunday to show off the health of his knee.

Ibrahimovic was officially released by United following the expiration of his lucrative one-year deal in June. He has since been linked to huge offers from the Los Angeles Galaxy.
