21 Août 2017

"Michael will not make the trip for our game in Cleveland as we gather more information on this issue".

The Giants said they were made aware of the situation Saturday.

Messages left with Bowie's agent have not yet been returned.

Court documents allege Bowie and his girlfriend were fighting over finances when he grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground before punching a hole in a wall and breaking a pair of televisions, CBS News affiliate News on 6 reports.

Chris Gimenez heads back to Twins' bench against Diamondbacks
Colon, who had been 0-2 in his career versus the Diamondbacks entering the weekend, is the 18th pitcher to accomplish this feat. RHP Dillon Gee, who has a 2.13 ERA in four relief appearances with the Twins this season, will start the other game.

As the result of his pending arrest, the Giants have announced that Bowie will not travel with the team to OH for their second preseason game against the Cleveland Browns on Monday night. Beyond the criminal charges, he will be subject to potential discipline by the NFL under the league's personal-conduct policy.

Bowie's arrest was first reported by KOTV-6 in Tulsa, Okla. He didn't appear in a game for the Browns, who waived him during training camp last summer.

Bowie originally hails from Tulsa, Oklahoma but the alleged altercation took place in Bixby, Oklahoma. Drafted in 2013 as a seventh-round pick, he began his career with the Seattle Seahawks and also had a brief stint with the Cleveland Browns after being waived by Seattle following an injury.

Bowie is a third-string offensive tackle and is a longshot to make the Giants' 53-man roster this preseason. He was signed by the Giants to a futures contract earlier this year.
