Body of female stabbing victim located in North York's Derrydowns Park

21 Août 2017

Toronto police have identified a woman whose body was found in a North York park Saturday as Virgil Jack, 31.

"Once we have examined her, we noticed obvious signs of trauma, said Hopkinson".

David Hopkinson said police rushed to Derrydowns Park near Jane St. and Finch Ave.

"We think for someone to have inflicted those type of injuries, if it occurred in this area, we think someone would have heard or seen something", he said.

Browne said a set of tire tracks were found near the entrance of the park in a place where one wouldn't expect to find tire marks.

The match might be in a dark 2016 Ford Focus with Georgia tag RDG2198 and experts trust they might be flying out to Kentucky. His tattoos include a cross on his left calf and a clock on his right shoulder, which says "Trinity", the alert said.

He said the person driving that vehicle also appears to have hit a curb and there may be significant damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle.

An ongoing post-mortem investigation revealed she sustained multiple penetrating stab wounds.

Tire tracks were found close to the area where the body was located. Her husband does not live in Canada. "It indicates that maybe she died in some kind of violence".

He added that now, the main focus of the investigation is determining Jack's whereabouts or who she might have interacted with in the hours leading up to her death.

Investigators are urging anyone who saw Jack after 2:30 p.m. Friday or anyone who spotted any suspicious activity in the area to contact investigators at 416-808-7400 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
