The Armenian scored 24.5 points from a maximum of 36, ahead of the runner-up duo of Sergey Karjakin and Hikaru Nakamura at 21.5. Kasparov, who had been given a wild card for the event finished in the eighth place with a combined total of 16 points.

Since the victor of the tournament is determined on the basis of the overall scores of the two sections, Aronian became the victor with a total of 24․5 points, leaving behind Karjakin and Nakamura sharing 2-3 spots. Anand had a winning position versus Aronian.
