India's independence day observed as 'black day' in Kashmir

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday said ongoing probes of and notices to depositors of unexplained money post-note ban were among the sources to collate information about black money that figured in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech.

Claiming that his government is committed towards ending the role of middleman, Modi said there would no longer be touts fooling people to play the role of "influencer" in granting them jobs.

The Prime Minister said the team of senior officers in Union Government are keen to explore new avenues and ways for the betterment of people.
