UP madrasas told to celebrate Independence Day, event to be videograped

12 Août 2017

Earlier in the day, UP Madarsa Shiksha Parishad had directed all Madarsas in the state to unfurl national flag and recite national anthem on August 15.

In Mau, District Madarsa Management Association chief Arshad Nomani said that the UP government's order casts aspersions on the integrity and sincerity of madarsas whereas these institutions played an important role in the Independence movement of the country. "As it is we have been celebrating Independence Day with gaiety and zeal, then what was the need for a circular but a political motive".

Madhya Pradesh Madarsa Board on Friday issued an advisory to Madarsas to hoist the national flag on Independence Day. After this, tribute will be paid to the martyrs of freedom struggle. Students are also asked to sing songs based on nationalism. The entire function has to be videographed. The videos of the Independence Day programmes at various madrasas would be sent to the district minority officer.
