Jose Mourinho: I won't moan if Man United don't sign another player

And Mourinho, speaking at a press conference ahead of Sunday's clash with West Ham United, confirmed that the 35-year-old will be a Man United player once he returns from injury in January.

If United are to have a strong season they will need their record signing to be scoring from the word go and offset the loss of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"You know he's injured, he needs time to recover, he's not ready to play tomorrow", he said.

"It's not urgent, not desperate to have it done or not done", said Mourinho. He thinks he can do more.

"So we are having conversations and we are discussing the possibility of him to stay with us for the second part of the season".

The star forward had been linked with United all summer, with the Portuguese boss publicly claiming that he would put up a fight in order to make the signing.

Mourinho's solution for United's profligacy in front of goal was to sign Romelu Lukaku for a reported £75million from Everton. "I understand the reality of the market, the numbers and my club by doing 75% of what I asked, the club did well. I don't think I am in a position of moaning, crying, contesting or saying I am not happy".

"If I was a Premier League manager and had to choose between Lukaku, [Alvaro] Morata and [Alexandre] Lacazette, I would choose Lukaku, always".

Son président a souligné que l'aide aux personnes en détresse était un devoir pour tous les navigateurs "indépendamment de leur origine, couleur de peau, religion ou convictions".

"We'll improve the team and try to be at that level, to constantly be improving".

'Twenty-five per cent means one of four.

"We have got a central defender who can play in many other positions, such as right-back and central midfield".

Ibrahimovic has continued his rehabilitation at United's training ground and has even stuck around to help out some of the younger Red Devils players during preseason, according to midfielder Paul Pogba.

"So between the players we lost and the players we got, I think we are in a similar situation".

"The other 25 percent (of the transfer targets) will be another player playing from the sides. But we have players and if we can not strengthen the team in these areas, we have players that we trust". After a first season of transition, Mourinho must stamp his authority on this team and is under a lot of pressure to deliver the coveted Premier League title.

Mourinho believes United are capable of winning a title in his second season, but is not kidding himself over the challenge that awaits them domestically.

"Europa League is not Champions League", he said. Our levels of confidence and knowledge are higher so I am happy to start the season. "I'm not a hard person to work with, in spite of it looking different sometimes".
