AAA: Gas prices continue to rise in New England

That price is still above the national average of $2.33 a gallon, which is a 2.1 cents per gallon increase.

Springfield's gas prices this morning were well below the state average, which increased alongside national figures during the past week.

AAA found regular selling for as low as $2.15 and as high as $2.53 per gallon.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average cost of a gallon of regular in DE rose six cents over the past seven days - from $2.24 to $2.30.

The oil and gas company reported ($0.83) earnings per share for the quarter, topping the consensus estimate of ($1.08) by $0.25. Bristow Group Inc is an industrial aviation services provider and helicopter service provider to the offshore energy industry.

"As summer moves forward, the days of dropping summer gas prices appear to be behind us for now", said Dan Goodman, manager of public affairs for AAA Northern New England.

"For commuters, it will be a little bit tougher, but it's not like the 2011 to 2014 period where we paid $3.50 a gallon", Kloza said. According to GasBuddy, South Haven prices are at $2.29 a gallon. "Looking behind us however, gas prices have remained in a relatively tight range for the a year ago, staying within a 30 cent wide range".

State of Tennessee- $2.13, up 5.7 cents per gallon from last week's $2.07.

The price in Rhode Island is 2 cents per gallon higher than the national average of $2.34.
