'NCIS: Los Angeles' Adds Nia Long as Series Regular

Nia Long (Big Momma's House, Guiding Light) has joined the cast of the CBS show NCIS: Los Angeles as a series regular.

CBS announced Monday that Long, 46, will play Shay Mosely, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service's new executive assistant director. Granger had been portrayed by Miguel Ferrer, who died in January.

"Los Angeles" will be back at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1.

NCIS: Los Angeles stars Chris O'Donnell, LL COOL J, Linda Hunt, Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, Barrett Foa and Renée Felice Smith. She's a former Secret Service agent and experienced Washington insider "who brings an East Coast style and demeanor to the West Coast team", per her character description.

The share price has moved forward from its 20 days moving average 19.44% and positively from its 50 days moving average 25.60%. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 67 cents per share.

Long's films include "Boyz N the Hood" (1991), "Friday" (1995) "Boiler Room" (2000) and recurring roles in the "Big Momma's House" and "The Best Man" movie franchises.

"We are excited about the new opportunities and dynamics she brings to the show", he added. Her Sundance Film Festival premiere "Lemon" reaches theaters August 18.
