The movie has already been attacked by Congress workers, with Bhandarkar having to cancel a number of promotional events because of the threat of violence.
While quashing Paul's plea the Supreme Court observed that the movie is an artistic expression and it is within the parameters of the law adding that there was no justification to stay the release of the film.
The movie is slated for release tomorrow.
The role played by Rashmi Jha for the silver screen apparently is inspired by Rukhsana Sultana, who is believed to be Sanjay Gandhi's ex. Indu Sarkar is about the emergency period during our former prime minister Indira Gandhi on 1975.

The Bench said that the petitioner was entitled to explore the legal measures available for supporting her claim to be the biological daughter of Sanjay Gandhi.
The Delhi High Court too had dismissed a plea to revoke the censor board clearance given to the film. The Bombay HC said that it wouldn't interfere after the CBFC had given a certificate to the movie.
Indu Sarkar stars Kirti Kulhari and Neil Nitin Mukesh in the lead, and has been cleared by the revising committee of CBFC with a U/A certification.
