Amazon Prime Now released on Singapore app stores

Amazon launched its Prime Now services in Singapore, making the country the e-commerce giant's first foray into the Southeast Asian market.

The entry into Singapore market for a potential clash between Amazon and Chinese tech rival Alibaba, which recently acquired a controlling stake in regional e-commerce firm Lazada. Alibaba has a significant influence over the region's e-commerce.

The information about Amazon's Prime Now service comes from the Prime Now app, which appears to have been released ahead of an official announcement.

"Amazon is now late to Asia and will have to work very hard to convince online shoppers to switch with a superior customer experience", Lee said.
