2 abducted Pak diplomatic officials arrive in Pakistan

The ministry statement did not provide further details about who was behind the kidnapping or from where in Afghanistan the two men were rescued. Afghan officials were not immediately available to comment. They were kidnapped while travelling from Jalalabad to Torkham on June 16, 2017.

President Ghani personally phoned Pakistan's Charge d'Affaires in Kabul to inform the mission that Afghan security forces had recovered the officials, a Foreign Office statement here said.

OLOnews chatted to two young Afghans recently who were spotted in a Kabul city park, listening to Pakistani music. They would be flown back to Pakistan to join their families as soon as possible.

The envoy also suggested ways for restoring peace and stability in Afghanistan which included intra-Afghan reconciliation, robust border management, repatriation of Afghan refugees and close cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
