26 Juillet 2017

Trump tweeted that Sessions, "has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes".

The veteran Fox News anchor reported on his program on July 12 that during the U.S. election campaign Clinton's representatives met with staff from the Ukrainian Embassy and representatives from the Ukrainian government to discuss digging up "dirt", or compromising material on Trump's Campaign Manager, Paul Manafort. "Ukraine is proud of bipartisan support in the United States".

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that US Attorney General Jeff Sessions should investigate the actions of the Ukrainian authorities who, in his view, supported Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton.

Trump on Monday resorted once again to Twitter to lambaste Clinton and lash out at the investigations being pursued by several congressional committees to determine if his election campaign coordinated with the Kremlin to influence the result of the election and hurt Clinton's chances at the polls, Efe news reported.

Ukraine's government Twitter account shared the statement promptly and in response to Newsweek's further questions, referred to a letter by the ambassador from January, addressing past reports of a Ukrainian-American Trump opponent seeking the embassy's help.

"Ukraine has always proudly had bipartisan support in the US, and the government would do nothing to undercut that", the letter stated.

Sessions, Trump's former security adviser Mike Flynn, his eldest son Donald Trump Jr. and his son-in-law Jared Kushner have all been named in a burgeoning scandal around the Trump team's allegedly improper conversations with Russian Federation.
